Houston Texercise

About Us

Texercise-Houston was founded in July 2006 and is comprised of state and local organizations committed to developing an exciting new way to get moving, eat right, and stay fit.  We serve as a resource to Texans of all ages offering educational events to help motivate the community with long-term goals of adapting to a healthier lifestyle.  Whether you want to get started at home, or in the company of others, we have activities that are right for you.

As a project of the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services, Texercise–Houston is a public service.  There are no fees to join Texercise–Houston, however some of our partners may charge for certain programs.  Don’t wait, come participate and earn rewards to a better you, better health, and better lifestyle.  We challenge Texans to become physically fit by offering education, exercise, and motivational activities.  Texercise–Houston is the sixth Texercise Team developed in recent months. Others include Austin, Dallas, Denton, Lubbock, and San Antonio.

Team Planning Meetings

Texercise is a great way for site managers and/or activity directors to have their residents participate in a challenging, eight-week exercise program and celebrate with us at the awards program on Nov. 30, 2007

The Houston Texercise Team is looking for community sponsors who will support the city of Houston in promoting healthy lifestyles choices. All are welcome to attend.
