Texercise is a program of the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS)
It is that time of the year – time to stick to your resolutions and improve your health.
The Texas Round-Up and Gov. Rick Perry kicked off the annual Governor’s Challenge in January, encouraging adults to exercise 30 minutes a day, five days a week for six weeks — or any combination of 150 minutes of physical activity each week. The Governor’s Challenge ends on April 10.
If increasing your daily/weekly physical activity is on your list of things to do, don’t miss this opportunity to get moving.
To get started, go to www.texasroundup.org and click on "Join the Program." If you participated in the past, you can log-in as using your old user name and password to begin tracking your physical activity minutes in GetFitTexas! All of your activity since Jan. 1, 2010, counts; the system will let you log your time retroactively. More information on the Governor’s Challenge and step-by-step instructions are included on the website: http://www.texasroundup.org/GetFitTexas_Program.aspx.
If you are interested in participating in the 7th Annual Texas Round-Up 10K-5K-Family mile, you can register online at www.texasroundup.org.
